Our timber is sourced from responsibly managed FSC and PEFC certified forests, with sustainability remaining central to how we operate. Whether you’re heating a traditional fireplace in a Borders cottage, fueling a modern log burner, or preparing an outdoor sauna or fire pit for the evening, our hardwood logs are designed to burn steadily and efficiently from the first strike of the match.

Briquettes that burn for longer
For customers looking for a slower, more controlled burn, briquettes offer a highly efficient alternative to traditional firewood. Made from compressed wood residues with extremely low moisture content, they produce powerful, long lasting heat while creating very little smoke or waste.
Use briquettes alongside hardwood logs to create a more balanced fire; logs for atmosphere and initial heat, then briquettes to maintain temperature for longer periods with less refuelling. Compact, clean to store and easy to use, briquettes are well suited to log burners, multi-fuel stoves and outdoor heating alike.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does kiln dried firewood burn better?
Kiln drying removes excess moisture from the timber, allowing logs to ignite more easily and burn with greater efficiency. This creates stronger heat output with less smoke and residue.
Are hardwood logs better for log burners?
Yes, hardwood logs burn slower and hold heat for longer than softwood logs, making them ideal for wood fired heating systems.
Can I use your firewood in outdoor fire pits and saunas?
Yes. Our hardwood logs are suitable for outdoor fire pits, chimineas and wood fire saunas. If you have any queries about use of our hardwood logs, please don’t hesitate to.
Do briquettes last longer than traditional logs?
In most cases, yes. Briquettes are denser and contain very little moisture, allowing them to maintain heat for longer periods with less frequent refuelling.
How much firewood should I order for winter?
This depends on how often you use your stove or fire. If you use wood heating daily during colder months then bulk crates or pallet deliveries are more convenient and provide better value, provided you have somewhere to store them. Otherwise, smaller alternatives like net bags might be a more sustainable option for you.Â
Will your logs fit standard log burners?
Yes, our logs are cut to practical sizes suitable for the vast majority of wood burners, multi-fuel stoves and open fireplaces.
How should firewood be stored after delivery?
Logs should be kept somewhere dry with good airflow, such as a covered log store or ventilated outdoor shelter to maintain their low moisture content.
